Post Office Blocks Soldier Packages in France
Soldiers in France may receive no more miscellaneous packages unless specifically requested and approved by a regimental or higher officer. Packages not authorized or containing unrequested items will be returned. The move, ordered by the post office department under war department guidance, cites military necessity. A later note condemns yellow cards used for Liberty Loan solicitors labeling such individuals as yellow Americans.
