A Golden Wedding celebrated quietly at home with children and grandchildren. Mr Michael Barry and Miss Margaret Brown married in St Louis on June 17 1860. They moved to Henry and built a large family of six children and twelve grandchildren. The couple retired in 1896 and remain revered, with Mrs Barry known for verse writing.

Board of Health Reports City Sanitation Strong Overall
The Board of Health completed its annual inspection noting better than usual sanitation for this time of year though some barns still accumulate manure clogging alleys and waste in backyards. Dish water and kitchen slops were observed entering yards and alleys risking typhoid and disease. Officials Swain Brown Clark Leavitt urge public cooperation to preserve health. About 600 Peru visitors spent Sunday in Henry parks, danced in the pavilion, watched Peru meet Henry, and returned home aboard the Swain.
