Death of Mrs Una Belle Adams Neff in Davenport

Martin A. Adams of Galva Illinois reports the sudden death of his sister Mrs Una Belle Adams Neff, wife of Otto Neff. Born March 18 1874 in Sparland Illinois she was 386 years old. She leaves husband and four children and had long health issues. The Davenport funeral and interment details follow with church notices, Sunday School attendance, and local religious services, including a May to June church program and upcoming events. A separate note explains a state water survey on softening hard Illinois water and practical methods using lime and soda with cost estimates.

Ivy club awards cash prizes for boat race

At a meeting the Ivy club voted to award $50 to the boat with the fastest time in the Peoria to Henry motor boat race on Saturday June 25. A $100 prize will be divided among the first five cruising boats. The racing committee will set handicaps. Will S Kellogg Jr was elected secretary to fill a vacancy. St Marys Church to Get Pipe Organ and Confirmations

St Marys church will install a pipe organ costing 1700 by Hinner Organ Co to be built for the chair loft and consecrated by Bishop Dunne of Peoria. A school picnic at Anton Stadel’s farm followed by plans for First Holy Communion for fourteen children next Sunday with named recipients.

Silver Jubilee Celebrated for Rev Fr Dooling at St Josephs

At St Josephs church the congregation marks the silver jubilee of Pastor Rev Fr Dooling who was ordained at St Viatour college in Kankakee on June 16 1885 a span of 25 years. High mass was at 10 80 with a sermon by a visiting clergyman. Mrs Dr Hall led the singing featuring new music and solos by Dr Adams Miss Dustman and others.
