The evangelistic series led by Dr Bulgin in Henry achieved broad church unity and strong attendance. A union meeting with Rev Campbell and Rev Tullis drew crowds as Bulgin delivered lengthy sermons and expositions. Sudden Death of William Payton at Home on Second Street
William Payton, 82, died suddenly Monday afternoon at his Second Street home. Physician cited heart disease as the cause. He was unmarried, formerly a trucker for A H Green, and helped move heavy presses for The Republican office. He leaves parents, a brother, and three sisters. Funeral held yesterday at 10 a.m. at Patrick's Cemetery with Rev. Kinney officiating.

Mrs FP H Ambrose died at her daughter Mrs J H Weyer home in Perry City Iowa at 8 PM Friday January 38 1902 age 57 years 4 months 20 days. Illness followed a fall two years earlier and an operation was planned but she weakened rapidly. Daughter Helen Potter born 1844 in Illinois taught in Princeton and Normal School before marrying J H Ambrose in Bloomington 1867. Survived by two children Fon and Carry now Mrs J H Weyer. Funeral Monday at 2:30 from First Street home Rev McLaren officiating.

Bishop Taylor arrived Saturday and was hosted by Mr W I Law and Mrs Law. He baptized eight people and infants of Dr Cromwell and A Frommel. A capacity crowd at St John’s heard a sermon on worship as the aim of gospel preaching. 14 were confirmed. Rector J Barrett led prayers and the rector and vestry discussed parish needs before Monday departure. Next Sunday no services, only Sunday school.
