Death of Engelbert Hofer In Henry Illinois Area
Engelbert Hofer died at his home in Henry on Saturday evening August 99 1902 about 8 o clock and was buried from St Marys church. He was born in Baden Germany about 72 years ago and came to America first to New York then Peoria County later Marshall County. He married Feb 22 1862 to Aftee Heter Steppart ern and farmed in Saratoga Whitefield then 200 acre Whitefield farm and later a town home. Surviving children include John Sylvester Mary Ann Wunder Charles Herman Valentine and Mrs Tizie Kubo living nearby. Funeral held at St Marys with Rev Father Zumbeuhl officiating. The large attendance and English services reflected high regard for a kind hospitable man. The family expresses thanks for support during illness and death.

Esther R Mills wife of Henry Mills died in Chicago at age 82 years 7 months 16 days. Born in St Claresville Ohio 1820 she lived on a Putnam county farm joined by Friends ceremony in 1839. Eleven children were born to them two sons and two daughters survive. After husband death she moved to Kansas then Chicago where she died. Her body was taken to McNabb for burial after a Friends service near Glest Creek.

Ellis Eddingfield born in West Virginia on March 23, 1826 married Susanna Crutchman December 14, 1847 in Farmington Pennsylvania. He resided in Magnolia Illinois from 1868 until his death August 25, 1902 and was buried there with Odd Fellows support. He left three sons and one daughter and was noted for integrity and respect.

Jennie Marian Conover, daughter of Mr and Mrs Robert L Conover, died at five a.m. on Wednesday August 20 1002 after a brief illness from cholera infantum. Born September 29 in Saratoga township she was nearly three years old. Funeral service was held at Milo M E church Thursday afternoon with Rev Shoop presiding and burial in Mound Cemetery Mile.

City Council Adjourns After August 21 1902 Meeting
The city council met in the chambers August 21 with Aldermen Green Yaeger Broaddus Smith Camp and Bickerman present. Mr Heckle of St Louis proposed widening the waterworks and bonds, which was withdrawn after consideration. The body adjourned to Monday August 26 1912. Mayor A G Humphrey signed, City Clerk Fred Schaefer recorded.

City Condemnation Proceedings Favor City in August Session
