Movements and gatherings populate the week with visits among families in Sparland, Lacon, Peoria, Chillicothe, and nearby towns. Neighbors report guests, concerts by Peoria Municipal Band, trips to coast, and new staff at H. Gapen drug store.
Last Friday night a social at Mrs Charlotte Duncan's lawn drew country auto arrivals. A patriotic program aired on Victrola, ice cream and cake served, and the Ladies Aid raised about $20. Nearby, Mr and Mrs George Wiley hosted a Sunday dinner for relatives and friends, with fried chicken and desserts. A group of local girls enjoyed a week camping near Mrs William Marlant's, later returning home for duties.
Broadmoor notes show Harry Cristiandtany visited relatives in Buda Sunday. Luke Gregory of Whitefield plans to guest at the home of John Poff and family. John and Dan Driscoll went to Indiana on business. Irvin Cappertune and wife visited their Schausliiterie Peoria Sunday. James Powers, Eva Powers, Ruth McKean spent Sunday at Staryed Rock. Alvin Blackburn of Lacon visited aunt Mrs Bert Ray Cole. Geraldine of Kewinea visited relatives earlier this week. Harry Mattison and Richard Tremain of Henry called on Broadmoor friends recently. Mrs Hol Horner and Elmer returned to Indiana after a week with her sister Mrs E G Rees.

Cottage Miss Luella Winter plans a program by the Cottage Sunday school for next Sunday August 12. Many residents attend events and visits across Cottage with gatherings at John Doty and William Chesney’s homes. Regulars travel to Lake Senachwine for outings and chores reflect a busy community scene.
Ye Mr and Mrs Joe Garrity and babe were entertained at Elmer Hunts home on Wednesday. John and Park McAllister visited Tuesday evening with their brother Ben McAllister. Ed Ketchum and fanny arrived from Nebraska to Henri last Saturday noon. A family reunion will be held Friday at the dake where relatives of both will join for no good time. Miss or Mrs Cora Seely Saturday evening and Sunday all were glad to welcome Mr and Mrs Thomas Runnells and Melvin wife and family back to their old home. Ethel Seelye and William Reece were dinner guests Sunday at T R Seelyes. Ida Cooksey and child were guests Sunday of last week at Elmer Hunts. Sillisman's of Toulon visited at Lawrence Hunts same day. Threshing will soon commence in our neighborhood with oats threshing out good. The Men's Bible class banquet was enjoyed by a good company with pasté and speeches.
