Wenona and area residents in January 1918 notices
Mrs. Frank Holton of Wenona visited her parents Mr. and Mrs. Saltzman in Leese while several neighbors and relatives attended band concerts in Wenona. Many locals traveled to Peoria, Chicago, and Ottawa for duties, visits, or military drafts, with references to births, illnesses, and a family reunion. A Wheaton era note mentions a lost chain prayer chain urging readers to share a blessing for soldiers and sailors.
