Henry township was lauded for over-subscribing its quota and may win the state banner, with T. J. Segraves and assistants thanked for their efforts. Hilda Meridian daughter of Mr and Mrs Bernard Meridian wed Joseph Bogner son of Mr and Mrs Joseph Bogner in a spring ceremony at St Marys Catholic Church. Bridesmaid Bertha Bogner carried pink sweet peas. Best man Fred Meridian and flower girls Edith Konrad and Edna Bogner. After the ceremony the couple, joined by about forty relatives, hosted a reception at the bride’s home before leaving for Brewster sands Barnesville to visit ten days and begin housekeeping thereafter.
Sven John Tundgren a Varna resident since 1867 died aged 78 after a three month illness. The Swedish Lutheran church service was held at 2 o'clock Tuesday, leaving a wife and five children. Surviving: Charles J of Magnesiya Fred of Wesley Iowa Mrs W J Austin Mrs Hilda Johnson and Nina of Varna. Elected undertaker in Varna.
The Henry and Putnam bakery and meat markets agree to close Sundays and stay shut Saturday nights into Monday morning. Community leaders praise the move as progressive noting merchants adapt to a new wave for betterment. The article also covers Parent Teacher Association activities and local church schedules.
The report from Miss Watkins lists Sunday school data for Marshall County in 1914. It cites 20 schools, 1273 officers, 130 teachers, and 1384 pupils, with 161 cradle-roll members and 2615 total enrollment. Average attendance 985, plus 13 teachers in training classes and 14 adult classes.

A special fund donated by lot owners has 2600 dollars with notes secured by mortgages forming a perpetual care fund for donor lots.
