About 160 members and guests attended the Henry High School annual alumni reunion at the Henry gymnasium. The evening featured a banquet served by Gretchen Schiffbauer and her class, remarks by Beulah Nicholson and Irene Chance, a xylophone solo by Bruce Bauter, and an address by Rev. Thomas Crapp on Discovering America. Officers elected: President Bernice Green, Vice President Bruce Bauter, Secretary Alta Rickey, Treasurer Gladys Sivell. A public dance with Hal Miller and his Royal Band followed at Riviera Park.

War Department approves Chillicothe bridge plans
The War Department on Tuesday approved revised Santa Fe railroad bridge plans across the Illinois River north of Chillicothe. Engineers say the revised design provides for 765 feet of water clearance and 44 feet of high water clearance, deemed satisfactory for current and future navigation needs.

Final Rites For Miss Cecelia Hupp Held Saturday
Miss Cecelia Marie Hupp, daughter of Wayne and Anna Kroeper Hupp, died at age 20 after illness at St Francis hospital Peoria. She trained as a nurse at St Francis, lived in Henry Illinois, and her funeral at St Marys church followed a high mass of requiem. Her class motto was Not for Self but for Others and many from Peoria and across Illinois attended.

Theodore Bickerman Dies at 87 in Henry Memorial
Theodore Bickerman aged 87 died suddenly Monday near noon at his Henry home after a long life in Illinois and Kentucky. Born March 14 1843 in Louisville he moved to Illinois as a child. He married Catherine Eiler in 1866 and built a dry goods business in Henry later expanding into pumps windmills and plumbing.

Fire destroys farm residence near Redtown in mystery
A large eight room residence on the Anthony Kaiser farm one mile north of Redtown burned to the ground. The Ely family occupied the home and all contents were lost. Loss estimated at 10000 with no insurance. Fire, probably from the west porch, was discovered at about 4 pm and neighbors fought flames for two hours but could not save the house or belongings.
