Ghosts and the White Horse Legend at Rugby Grange
Dodette Westfeldt Grinnell recalls a May 1880 tale of a man on a white horse riding past the Grange to deliver medicine for a sick uncle. The rider’s appearance preceded the uncle’s death, sparking belief in an apparition. The Life magazine version altered setting and names, while local accounts connect the legend to Rugby Grange on Lake Summit.
