New downtown tavern plans seven day operation from 11 am to midnight Sunday through Thursday and 11 to 2 am on weekends. Owner aims for strong service at all hours, plans to hire 22 to 28 staff, and targets a casual farmer customer base with burgers and sandwiches.
The county promotes from within to lead its Emergency Services Team. Since 2000, the new director has served as paramedic rescuer instructor and county emergency management rescue coordinator. He holds a B S in Criminal Justice from Appalachian State University and multiple certifications. County Manager Steve Wyatt praises the internal promotion and the candidate's record.
Jimmy Brissie assumes the role as Henderson County Emergency Services director succeeding retired Rocky Hyder. An East Henderson High School graduate, Brissie joined the Rescue Squad at age 15 and has served as its Chief. He steps in ahead of hurricane season, bringing long."
The Henderson County Board of Commissioners unanimously rezoned 37 acres on Crest Road from residential and community commercial to industrial despite neighbor concerns about traffic water runoff noise and lighting. Fifteen members of the Henderson County Partnership for Economic Development attended in support. Mountain Showcase plans a 19 acre move. Leisure Craft already operates there under old zoning. Ryan Casto pledged neighbor drainage cooperation.
