County OKs $20M law enforcement training center
Henderson County commissioners approved a $19.9 million indoor law enforcement training facility at Blue Ridge Community College, with $1.3 million in architect fees. The 49,000 square foot center will host 12 100 yard and 12 50 yard lanes, backups for 911, and potential revenue from regional use as Sheriff Charlie McDonald argues for enhanced realism to counter terrorism, officer ambush risks, and campus threats.
