Shutdown closes Sandburg site for government shutdown
Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site is among 401 parks closed as a result of the federal shutdown. All visitor facilities and programs are halted, with four teens furloughed and three staff on duty for goat care, security, and emergency services. Nationwide, NPS losses and local gateway sales are projected to run into millions daily.
