Meadows defeats Rogers to win congressional seat
Lightning Editor Mark Meadows swept to victory in the 11th Congressional District Tuesday, reclaiming the seat from Democratic control after Heath Shuler’s three terms. The Cashiers real estate developer led a crowded Republican field, won the runoff against Vance Patterson, and secured about a 16 point win over Hayden Rogers. Meadows thanked Henderson County supporters and stressed urgent work and a Western North Carolina focus as Rogers offered congratulations and well wishes.
