Memorial Day honors fallen veterans at Forest Lawn service
Hundreds of veterans and supporters gathered at Forest Lawn Memorial Park for Memorial Day ceremonies. Emcee Shuford Edmisten praised the fallen and noted more than 1 million Americans who have died in wars since 1775. The event marked Edmisten’s 31st year and honored World War II veteran Henry Petersen, with local students from West Henderson High School taking part in a flag folding ceremony. Avery Dollinger of the Veterans of Foreign Wars delivered keynote remarks on supporting veterans and the community.
