New outreach sparks teen music exploration in Hendersonville
A youth music outreach led by Rob Tolleson and the Hendersonville Community Music Center brings Hip Hop basics to Teens at the Boys and Girls Club and elementary room. Teachers include Preach Jacobs from Columbia and USC Upstate instructor Shannon Hoover. The program, started in 2013, aims to broaden access to instruments and musical languages with guitar, brass, keyboards, drums, and lyricism sessions. Summer schedule begins June 19 with guitar workshops, lyricism classes, band practice, and drum sessions for teens and younger students.
