Only Hope backs Absher amid arrest charges
The Only Hope WNC board issued a statement Friday night backing Michael Absher, founder of the group home for homeless youth, saying they expect him to be cleared of charges. Absher, a Henderson County School Board member, turned himself in on a misdemeanor count for allowing a 15‑year‑old resident to drink alcohol, with a court date set next month. The board reiterated strict anti drug and alcohol policies and noted the youth involved was terminated from the program on 4/1/17.
