Tailgate art honors veterans and war dead
Hendersonville artist Andrea Martin created Arlington National Cemetery and Vietnam Memorial scenes on pickup tailgates for local veterans. The project grew from a family push and turned into a full-time, doorway studio effort with War Memorials, honoring soldiers while funding Sheep Dog Impact Assistance. Martin paints with dedication, revising Arlington’s stones and names until precise, then donates 10 percent of proceeds to veteran aid.
