Athena Leadership honors outstanding community women
A local leadership program highlights women shaping Hendersonville and beyond. Elizabeth Willson Moss leads IAM efforts with programs aiding women, while Gale Hoots builds Welcome Table services and Monday Morning Breakfast for homeless neighbors. Gloria Nock mentored youth through DARE Camp and founded Camp GLOW. Jennifer Balkcom advocates for fairness in women sports and supports autism education. Brett Hulsey promotes collaboration and celebration of community path makers. Michelle Cervantez runs holistic child programs at An gelic Love Project and Hendo Care Farm. Peggy Allen founded the Hope Center of Hendersonville for disabilities care. Sonya Jones, active in public health nutrition, launched Caja Solidaria and led trauma-informed care for women.
