Pardee Hospital faces $54 million hit from Medicare cuts and Medicaid gaps
Pardee Hospital CEO Jay Kirby warned at a Hendersonville Republican Men’s Club meeting that Medicare reductions, sequestration, and Medicaid expansion rejection could cost the 222‑bed facility about $54 million over 10 years. He noted the impact on jobs, urged cost cuts and revenue growth, and cited 2011 free care of $10.1 million while forecasting immediate financial strain starting March with $90,000 monthly sequestration losses.
