Mixed income housing plan heads to City Council
Housing plan for 18 acre North Main Street site moves to City Council after Planning Board endorsement on Feb 9. The project includes 90,654 square feet of apartments in six buildings, 17 single family homes, a 2,200 square foot community building, a 4,200 square foot office, a park and two playgrounds along Mud Creek. Oklawaha Village will rent up to 115 percent of area median income, expanding beyond 60 percent, with RD538 rural development loan guarantees anticipated to fund the financing. Twelve single family homes will be sold through HAC's Self-Help program requiring 65 percent of labor from applicants, creating an income integrated development near the Oklawaha Trail and two parks with a third soon.
