Mills River and Fletcher approve reduced tax rates for 2023 24
Mills River council cuts the FY2023-24 tax rate toward a revenue neutral 15.2 cents per 100 as 2023 reappraisal boosted values by almost 34 percent. The plan lowers the rate from 18 cents and shifts funds to capital purchases including ARP financed land acquisition. Fletcher adopts a 28 cent rate, 0.3 cents above revenue neutral, funding Fire and Rescue with 10 cents, and adds money for police bodycams and livings.
