Publix Faces FEMA Review Over Mud Creek Floodplain
Halvorsen Development and Publix are awaiting FEMA and state Floodplain Mapping approval for a 6 acre Mud Creek site after May floods. Officials note a no-rise permit was denied and the project remains in limbo pending flood control signoffs and a Certificate of Occupancy. Local projections indicate possible late summer openings, with a third quarter target by October 1.
