City commits to new streetscape makeover plans
Hendersonville Council heard that the final phase of downtown streetscape improvements could transform the area. City Manager Bo Ferguson and designer Luther Smith outlined paving four blocks, adding trees, crosswalks, a water feature and signage to calm Sixth and Seventh avenues. They noted good owner buy in and the goal of a north gateway development, while acknowledging the challenge of the Sixth Avenue crossing and the perpendicular traffic pattern near Seventh Avenue.
