Henderson County towns debate police funding and consolidation
Fletcher favors its own police department citing 24-7 coverage and mutual aid benefits while Hendersonville backs the current system with the sheriff's department. City finds old galvanized valve caused long water leak
Mickey and Natalie Coleman fought a two year water leak feeding a ditch and pond in Dogwood Forest. After outreach to DOT officials, city manager, and a reporter, a fix replaced a deteriorated valve on an old galvanized line and the water flow slowed to a trickle within hours. The city notes larger leaks exist and offered to review reimbursing landscaping costs.
