We the people tackle issues in Hendersonville civic groups
Eighty five members of the Heart of Hendersonville project met at the City Operations Center to brainstorm next actions in four issue groups. State Senator Chuck Edwards along with Mayor Barbara Volk and Mayor Pro Tem Ron Stephens attended. The effort, tied to Parker Palmer's Healing the Heart of Democracy, formed 18 book study groups and produced an action plan to bridge divides and involve underrepresented residents. Top issues identified included bridging racial divides, immigration policies, affordable housing shortage, and the drug epidemic.
