Hendersonville weighs Dixie’s Dog Park name and six million bonds
Hendersonville City Council invites public name nominations for the new Seventh Avenue dog park to honor a service dog buried at Fire Station No. 1 with a deadline to email by Aug 1. The council advanced a $6 million General Obligation bond plan for Berkeley Park improvements, anticipating a 3 cent tax hike to cover $500,000 annual debt. The resolution asserts need and sufficiency of bonds for the project. Incumbents were reappointed to two boards, with new member Scott Biron joining Main Street Advisory. The 29th annual Hendersonville Shrine Club auction will be held July 20 at North Henderson High School to fund Greenville Shriners Hospital pediatric care.
