Henderson County protesters demand marijuana legalization
Demonstrators gathered at the Henderson County Courthouse on Grove Street to protest pot charges against Todd Stimson, a Fletcher man facing felony counts of possession, possession with intent to sell, and maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance. Organizers from Blue Ridge Liberty Project and locals from Hendersonville and Asheville urged ending prohibition, noting a July 2013 raid on Stimson’s home. Protester James Ziggy McLemore spoke of medical use and remission from cancer, while others hailed signs calling for legalized cannabis and free markets.
