Black Star Line Brewery Closure Ties to Debt and Vandalism
The Hendersonville Lightning reports Black Star Line Brewery closed after debt and nonpayment issues with Mountain BizWorks and the building’s owner Luther Smith. The landlord terminated the lease, and patrols found no progress in the vandalism and threats case. Owner McCrae recounts struggles, living with four coworkers to cut costs, and mourns the loss of a community brewery that had become a gathering place.
