County financial gap widens as budget forecasts 2016-17 loom
Henderson County faces a 2016-17 gap of about 2 million after reserves are used, with costs including a new jail roof and Health Sciences Center maintenance. Debt service climbs to 104 million before eight-year declines, while revenue sits at 117 million and a quarter-cent sales tax could offset losses. Commissioners consider options such as a $20 landfill availability fee but delay action.
