Water rate and impact fees eyed in city budget plan
The city would use 11 million in reserves and 9 million in borrowing this year plus 23 million in 2020 and 9.3 million in 2022 to fund the capital plan. A 20 to 25 percent rate increase over five years is projected to cover the gap, with outside city customers paying 150 percent of inside rates. Impact fees could range from 2,300 to 4,600 for a home and up to 475,000 for a 12 inch feeder. waivers may apply for affordable housing and industrial recruitment. The City Council will review the proposals at a budget session next month.
