White Labs to invest 8.1 million in Buncombe yeast facility
San Diego based White Labs Inc plans an 8.1 million facility in Buncombe County creating 56 jobs. Gov Pat McCrory and Commerce Secretary John Skvarla announced the East Coast operation, which will produce yeast for breweries and aid sales and classes. The project joins Country Malt Group in Fletcher as NC crafts beer grows. Airport traffic at Asheville is set to hit a record in 2014, with November boarding up 11.5 percent and total passengers up 12.2 percent for the year through November. Revenue rose 11 percent while expenses fell 14 percent. cash on hand was 16.4 million.
