DOT proposes fixes at tricky Greenville Highway intersection
State engineers seek to realign Shepherd Street and Elkwood Drive near Greenville Highway using either a roundabout or a stop light. A public drop in session is planned January 29 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Flat Rock Village Hall. residents may comment in writing or at the meeting. The plan could affect historic properties including Towles cottages, the old McCall’s and Sherman grocery buildings, and the Hiram King Jones cabin, with officials saying final design and right of way costs remain subject to change.
