Henderson County appoints Burgess interim tax collector
Henderson County Commissioners named Darlene Burgess as interim tax assessor and tax collector to replace the retirement of Stan Duncan. The board will finalize a permanent appointment by July 1 and place the tax office under the county manager for streamlined operations. Burgess, Hendersonville native, has served as internal auditor since 2006 and previously handled delinquent taxes.
