Zoning Plan Advances for Joint Medical Facility in Henderson County

The city pursues zoning amendments affecting the Medical Office Building and a cancer center project on Pardee land. Plans include a new parking lot with 68 spaces and a reallocated 285 required spots for BRCC Wingate and the cancer center, with final approvals expected by March 5.

Mills River names Jeffrey D. Wells new town manager

Mills River selects Jeffrey D. Wells of Mooresville as the new town manager. Wells, a 1999 UNC Greensboro graduate and former Archdale planning director, currently serves as Kannapolis planning director with certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners. Mayor Larry Freeman says candidates had to cover all municipal planning aspects to guide growth while preserving rural character.
