Summit Dam structurally secure despite Helene damage at Lake Summit

Hurricane Helene damaged the Tuxedo Hydroelectric Project on the Green River in Western North Carolina, impairing the powerhouse and penstock and preventing lake level control downstream. Northbrook Power Management says the Summit Dam remains stable and water now flows naturally over the dam.
