City to study Ashe St pedestrian safety

City officials will study traffic around the Boys and Girls Club at Ashe and Ray Streets after Council member Jeff Miller urged stop signs on Bay Street at Ashe. Policy against stop signs as speed control faces questions, with crosswalks and no parking violations also reviewed for safety.

Mike's on Main Plans Summer Music Show

The City Council approved Mike's on Main to sponsor Supper & A Show Fridays 4 to 8 May through August to raise autism awareness and funds for county special needs classrooms. A 48 inch stage will be set up in front of 303 N Main Street with the sidewalk kept clear for pedestrians.
