ICE appeals occupancy denial for Hendersonville ICE office
The Homeland Security Department appeals the city zoning administrator’s denial of a certificate of occupancy for a 4,724 square foot building at Justice Street and Sixth Avenue housing ICE offices. The GSA lease via Wise Developments drew protests from Pardee Hospital and Elks Club over an eight foot fence with barbed wire. The city cites a detention room not in the approved site plan and warns the CO requires removing detention or changing zoning. Wise argues the use fits MIC zoning and was approved in 2011.
