Duke Energy backs rebuild of Henderson County transmission lines
Duke Energy crews with Southeast Power Corp are staging on U S 25 north of the Balfour school to install 4 miles of 44 kV high voltage line from Horse Shoe to Berkeley Park. Old wooden poles will be removed and replaced by lattice towers with some monopoles. Work runs on existing rights of way and aims to finish by December with a 2018 phase expanding to 12 miles. This reliability project addresses aging infrastructure and growth.
