Blue Ridge Southern begins service on Hendersonville line
Watco Transpor tation Services started freight operations on 70 miles of the Hendersonville to Brevard line under the Blue Ridge Southern banner on July 26. The BLU line runs from Asheville to Hendersonville serving Kimberly Clark with 10 locomotives and carriers forest products, aggregates and energy products. A rail-to-trail conversion for the Hendersonville to Pisgah segment remains undecided with no talks in progress with the Ecusta Trail group.
