James M. Carson of Ruth Bryan Owen’s campaign claims irregularities in Florida primary returns. He asserts a contest over results unless Owen secures nomination. Unofficial tallies show Owen trailing W I Sears by about 408 votes, with some precincts allegedly stolen and inspectors awaiting totals in Monroe County.
Washington June 9 VP The Agriculture Department reports spring wheat conditions at June 1 were the lowest on record for that date and the overall crop condition eight percent below the June 1 average. George Carter, a miner and porter from Arseville California, was found dead of thirst in the Great American desertAX miles southeast of Delta. Tracks show he wandered around a mile circle several times before collapsing. Carter had been missing since Sunday and was last seen near Passes.

Great Falls June 9 A pioneer of Cascade county John Ko Taylor was killed when a runaway team dragged him in front of a hay rake on his Cascade ranch. Taylor, a cowboy and early Montana settler, had worked with Henry Sieben of Helena and once drove cattle to Oregon and Montana. Canada's Vansaver set a strawberry price at 50 cents a case for Missouri and Arkansas growers.
In Anaconda Montana Ed Rollins admitted at an inquest he killed an elderly prospector and dumped the body into an abandoned mine shaft. Worley, Robins’ father in law, faces possible accessory charges after his testimony raised suspicion. The inquest adjourned with four witnesses remaining.
