Hedley Gold Mining Declares 5 Percent Dividend

The Hedley Gold Mining Company announces a quarterly dividend of 1.5 percent and an additional 3 percent, payable March 11, 1914, to stockholders of record March 20, 1914. Since taking over the mine in August 1909, dividends total $1,254,000, about seventy cents above par value. John D. Clarke, Secretary.

Mineral production shows Canada’s 1912 gains across metals

The 1912 Canadian Department of Mines report notes total mineral output rose to 30,511,380 for 1911 and 106,270,427 for 1912 with gains in iron and nonferrous metals. Copper, nickel, gold, and silver posted notable increases while structural materials added to the total of 135,048,200. Treasury gold holdings reach 98,600,000 with most held as Canadian gold.

Inventor Westinghouse Dies at 88 in New York

George Westinghouse died suddenly in New York at 88. He was famed as the inventor of the air brake, a development that transformed railroading. He founded many manufacturing plants in the United States Canada and abroad including Hamilton Ontario Manchester and London England. His industries employ about 150000 people and have capitalization around 200 million.

Mining Notes From Coquilulla to Granby and Beyond

Bank Robbery at Abbotsford by Five Armed Men
