The ceremony at the Methodist church featured At Dawning as the bridal march with Miss Clifton Thomas at the piano. Miss Lucille Griffin of Ennis was maid of honor. Best man was Earl Duce. The bride wore Alice blue taffeta traveling suit with biscuit hat. maid of honor wore white georgette crepe. Out-of-town guests included Mrs. Ernest Lyons of Waco and Misses Ethel and Lucille Griffin of Ennis.
The Hearne Chamber of Commerce calls for park upkeep and concert support after band stand use. It cites weeds and burrs in the park, urges grass cutting, seating additions, and orderly fundraising. Farmers are urged to stock livestock and crops, with pigs and baby beef, and to apply through Hearne Chamber for eligible registered animals under school endorsements. Citizens are asked to express support and volunteer to sponsor the enterprise.
The Hearne directors meeting praised the planned Brazos bridge at Valley Junction as a multi-county Texas project benefiting Robertson Milam and Burleson counties. A highway linking Trinity Wheelock Hearne Gause Milano Rockdale Thorndale to Austin would arise, with a push to rally Robertson and Milam counties. The session also tackled protecting local businesses from dubious solicitations and outside advertising schemes. The secretary was appointed to lead this campaign.
