Blackshear School Ends Year with Two Graduation Nights
The Blackshear School will close its 1965-66 year with two events. On Thursday at 8 p.m. 96 junior high students will receive certificates to enter senior high, with attorney Barbara Jordan of Houston delivering remarks to students and parents. On Friday at 8 p.m. 51 seniors will receive diplomas, the largest class in school history, with Rev. Lee C. Phillips of Prairie View College delivering the commencement address. Public invited.

Blackshear Bears Win District Bi District Play vs Jasper
The Blackshear Bears won the 3AAA District Championship and opened bi district play against Jasper, losing 2 to 1 in the May 17 game in Jasper. A second game was scheduled for May 25 at Bob Jones Diamond at 7 30 p m.
