The Hearne Parent Teacher Association held its last meeting of the school year at 7 p.m. Monday in the Hearne High School cafeteria. Highlights include a Brownie Troop 476 flag ceremony, Rev. O W Mack invocation, a square dance revue by Junior High students, and a comical FHA fashion show led by Miss Sabrina Moss detailing outfits by Cathy Gibson Cindy Jackson Patsy Muckelroy Sherri Bradley and Cathaleen Muckelroy.

In a special meeting the Hearne City Council approved temporary discontinuation of alley pickups in residential zones starting April 4 while boosting Oliver Davis garbage contract by 250 dollars monthly to 34 thousand yearly. Trucks previously broke down due to alley conditions, prompting city aid and oversight of out of town routes with rate increases for Franklin pickups.

Robertson County Youth Rodeo Debuts This Weekend
The first annual Robertson County Youth Rodeo runs Friday and Saturday at 8 p m in the Hearne Saddle Club Arena northwest of Hearne, with Bar One Bar R 4 Rodeo of Normangee as stock producer and an entry deadline of March 21. All Around saddles go to the top boy and girl. belt buckles awarded per event. Contestants must enter three events to qualify for All Around. Fifteen top youth events include bareback bronc riding, calf rope, barrel races, pole bending, breakaway roping, steer riding, goat tying, chute dogging, straight barrel, bull riding, and more.

Three Hurt In Monday Accident Near Hearne On Highway 6
Patrolman Gary S Henderson reports three persons injured in a Monday crash outside Hearne on Highway 6. A five year old boy remains in serious condition after a concrete drainage pipe from a southbound truck shattered window. driver and elderly male passenger had minor cuts. Names withheld pending investigation. Earlier, March 15, Mathew Fields of Hearne was cited for failure to yield at 12 15 p m 2 6 miles north of Hearne after a private drive event involving William Bishop Jr of Calvert, causing minor vehicle damage.
