Mr E A Reinhardt cashier of First National Bank brought a new 1919 model Chalmers Six five passenger car to Hearne from Houston on Saturday. The Chalmers is a leading high class make and the local example is described as one of the prettiest seen.

Improving Stores At Magnolia And Fourth Streets

The Magnolia Fourth Street corner building home to W. C. Allen & Company is getting new modern show windows. A second Magnolia street block project extends twenty feet at the back for a remodeled lot owned by Mr. Samuel C. Brown. Mr. J. E. Mooney will move his grocery operation to the enlarged South Magnolia site once the extension is finished. Hon. Tom Henderson of Bryan came to town Saturday. Misses Helen Cummings and Florence Allen left Wednesday for a visit in Waco.

Mrs. Lee Williamson Buried Here Sunday

Mrs. Lee Williamson former Norma Welch died in Galveston after an operation and was buried in Hearne Sunday at five o'clock. Funeral services were held at the home of Mrs. Sallie Smith. She was born in Hearne, daughter of G. K. and Mrs. Welch, wife of Lee Williamson manager of the Goliad Guard. She leaves a two year old daughter.

Fordson Tractor sale announced by Midway Garage

Mr H H Sneed of Mid Way Garage announces a contract with Robertson Pearson Inc for Fordson tractors in the locality. The tractor, built by Henry Ford and Son, is a 2700 pound utility farm implement with belt pulley, capable of breaking 10 to 12 acres daily with one operator, and usable for discing harrowing seeding and powering farm machinery.
