Recreation areas theme highlighted by Hearne club

The Hearne Shakespeare Club explored The Gateway to Worthwhile Leisure in a February meeting at the Municipal Clubhouse. Members named Texas recreation spots visited, heard a meditation on the Twenty-Third Psalm, and watched a film on state parks including Lake Brownwood and Inks Lake.

Parade of American Music Shown by Junior Music Lovers Club

Miss Elaine Lund presented a Parade of American Music to Junior Music Lovers Club members at Miss Caren Cruse home on February 13. The program included My Old Kentucky Home, Smoke Gets in Your Eyes, and If I Loved You arranged by Lund with Miss Dorothy Zemanek on piano. A March 9 slumber party date was set, and the March meeting moved to March 14. Refreshments followed the social hour.

Farewell Courtesy Honors Two Guests

Donald C. Butch Kaley Jr. and Henry Stringfellow were honored at a farewell party at the Municipal Club house last Friday before moving to Birmingham and Hearne respectively. Miss Linda Sweaks and Miss Vicki Boswell organized it with help from their mothers. Guests included classmates and friends who gave gifts, with dancing and a Twist contest won by Ruby Lynn Crowder and Bill Green. A long cake with a red heart inscription honored Butch.

An eighth birthday celebration for Linda Kleiber hosted by Mr and Mrs E R Kleiber took place Saturday afternoon at their home. The Mary Martha Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church hosted a Valentine party on February 9 in the church Educational Building reception parlors. Mrs. R. L. Smith Hosts Circle at Home

The Janice Malone Circle of the First Baptist Church met at ten o'clock last Tuesday morning in Mrs. R. L. Smith’s home to study Glimpses of Glory. Twelve members and one visitor heard an extensive talk by Mrs. G. Pennington, followed by a forty five minute session led by Mrs. C. C. Herrington after a covered dish luncheon. Mrs. Marian Rowan and her son Bobby visited Mrs. Burke in Deer Park over the weekend. Mrs. Burke joined them Sunday afternoon.
