Three Improve From Injuries After Hearne Plane Crash
Harvie Richardson has returned to his Hearne home from Brackenridge Hospital Austin to recuperate from injuries in a recent plane crash north of Hearne. Roy Henry, hospitalized locally, is also recuperating at home. Dr. J. P. Fleming Jr. is said to be improving at Hermann Hospital Houston and is expected to return to Hearne soon.

First 1965 traffic fatality in Robertson County at Bremond
Mrs. Kie Yezak 71 of Calvert died after a car train collision on old Highway 6 half a mile south of Bremond Sunday at 10 05 a m. Her husband and son were injured as the Ford Falcon collided with a Southern Pacific freight train No 42 headed south.

Poll Taxes Issued in Lamar and Robertson County
Lamar and Robertson County Tax Assessor-Collector reported 2137 poll taxes issued this year before the January 31 deadline. Forty one dollar receipts bring the total to 2142. Eighteen applications were turned in late. About half of the taxes were issued in the two days before the deadline. Last year 3408 polls were issued.

Eagles Lose District Games Knocked Out Of Contention
Hearne Eagles drop two district games to Cameron Yeomen 61-46 and Rockdale 87-61 ending any district title hopes. Pete Martin and John Mathis led with 13 points apiece in Cameron, while Mathis scored 18 against Rockdale. The B team also fell 61-38 and 61-44 respectively. The Eagles host Navasota Feb 5, then Caldwell on Feb 9.

Franklin Youth Injured In Franklin City Accident
A seven year old Franklin boy Henry Ellison was struck by a car near Franklin Elementary School on Highway 79 at 3 30 p m suffering two broken legs and facial cuts. The driver Lee Roy Moore of Lindale reported to be eastbound and no charges filed. The youth is in satisfactory condition at the hospital.
