Alvarado to Open Holly Sugar Plant in October
The Holly Sugar refinery in Alvarado will open around October 1 for a six to eight week run. About 700000 dollars of business is expected as 200 workers will be hired and 36400 tons of beets used to produce 160000 bags of sugar. George Miles acts as plant superintendent.
