He reports Mr and Mrs Brodie two daughters and two guests were in a car that overturned after hitting a soft shoulder while passing a bus near a beach resort 100 miles from Helsingfors. The two guests were bruised while the Brodies and children were unhurt. Edward Brodie is a brother of Robert A Brodie formerly foreman at Rovtow shop.

An Oakland woman Miss Jessie Stone 25 died and another Mrs Alice E Taylor 26 was badly injured when Taylor lost control on the Livermore road near Inman school three miles west of Livermore. The car skidded 129 feet and rolled 111 feet before overturning. Stone died at the scene. Taylor received severe head injuries and facial lacerations.
